It's official, Kailie finally got her ring. They broke the diamond while setting it the first time. So they put a larger one in at no cost. Then it wasn't ready on the day they were suppose to pick it up. So finally on Friday it was ready and they went and picked it up. It's so pretty and unique. Kailie was really happy with it and just can't stop staring at it..

Mother's Day
This year on Mother's day we kinda split the day up with the kids. It was Nikki's week to eat with Luthi's , so they came over for a morning breakfast of strawberry waffles and eggs, potatoes and bacon. It was really yummy. Kailie had breakfast with us also but Alex wasn't there. She had to work from 3- 10:30 and she came to church with us and then headed off to work. Holli and Dave came over for dinner of steak, corn on the cob, potatoes and a great salad that Holli had made. For dessert we had peach cobbler.
It was such a beautiful day getting to spend time with all of my beautiful daughters. Being a mother of three daughters has been such a rewarding experience of my lifetime. Each of them are so different and each with their own strengths and talents. I am so blessed in my life to have such wonderful children including my amazing son-in-laws. I can hardly wait to have a new one added to our family in August.
As you can see in the picture, Nikki gave me a beautiful flower pot filled with flowers. Holli gave me a necklace and earrings. Kailie gave me a darling top and Paul gave me a striped jacket and two tops plus a shirt. It was all very nice and so appreciated. Thanks family for a wonderful day.

Kailie's Engaged!
On May 6th Alex came over to the house while Kailie was at work and asked Paul and I if he could marry our daughter Kailie. He was so cute and not too nervous. He spent an hour with us and told us why he wanted to marry her. How she was such an amazing person and thanked us for raising such a beautiful daughter. He is such a cute guy and he makes Kailie so happy. Their relationship has moved very quickly but Alex explained that he knew she was the one right from the begining. He went to the temple and prayed about it, fasted and asked his heavenly father for confromation. We really like Alex alot and feel that he will make a great addition to our family.
On May 7th he sent Kailie on a Treasure hunt with his friend JC. She drove while he filmed every move. She was given clues and then drove or got lost until she fianlly came to the treasure, which of course was Alex and he then proposed. The site was a beautiful waterfull in Draper. She was very nervous but so excited.
Afterwards we took the beaming couple to dinner to celebrate and to get to know Alex a little better. Then off they went to a drive-in with all their friends. Congrat's you two.
P.S. Kailie's ring is being sized and a new stone added so she officially doesn't get the ring until the 17th. Alex gave her a cute pretend ring until her's arrives.

Porter's Ball game
Porter started T-Ball this year and Kailie and I decided to go watch on of his games this past week. It was a lot of fun to see how little attention spans these kids have. Porter was having a great time just throwing his mit in the air, while another kid was pulling out his bubble gum and stretching it to see how long he could get it. The game is just for fun, no score is kept. They just hit the ball and then run. Thanks for the entertainment buddy.
Hawaii
On my vacation this year Paul and I decided to go over to Hawaii for some sun and relaxation. The flight over was great. We have first class seats. Though a little long...six hours, the time actually went by fairly quickly. My brother Mark was over there working so he came and picked us up and even got us a hotel with him. It was called the Aqua Hotel and pretty nice. It was located right in the heart of everything and only two blocks from the beach. We spent everyday at the beach. One day we took Mark's car and went over to Hanama Bay and then back. It was really great weather and a fun time. The Spam festival was going on while we there also. The flight back was a little scarey. The Salt Lake flight filled up so we elected to go to Los Angelos and then to Salt Lake. It all worked out and we even got first class seats home. Nice vacation and not a lot of money... Thanks Mark for a fun time.

Dinner with great friends
We went out to dinner with the Baums and the Hafens on April 22 to the Texas Roadhouse. The place was so noisey that we couldn't hear each other talk to after dinner we headed to the Red Mango for some yogart and to just viist. Didn't leave the place until after 10:30. It was really fun to catch up with these guys.
Easter
This year the weather has been a pain. But we did manage to get a few hours of warm enough weather to do a Easter egg hunt out in the backyard for the grandkids. We only had Nikki and her family for Easter this year for the dinner, so we decided to have a brunch in the morning and had all the kids there for that. Now that Kailie has a boyfriend she spent the dinner with his family. The day was wonderful. I love spending time with my family and most of all I love how it is growing...Happy Easter to all.
