Holli Marie Paulsen Pierce

Twentyfive years ago today my little girl was born. It's hard to believe that that little mischevious girl is now 25  and is pregnant with her own little baby boy. It will be so fun to watch and see if she has a child that gives her a run for her money as she did with me. Holli was such a darling little girl but was always into something. A she grew and became a little lady she was always my most loving daughter. Always telling me how much she loved me and wanting to hug and kiss. Now she is a grown woman and having a baby of her own...It's hard to believe that the time has flown by so quickly. Thanks for all the wonderful memories Holli. I hope your day is wonderful and that you have a great birthday...I love you lot's....mom

St. Patrick's Day

 Their new St. Patty's sock's...

Today I had both the kids so I decided to start the day off right by making green pancakes. Of course Porter loved them. I even sent a to go plate with Nikki when she dropped off the kids. After I managed to get ready for the day we started making our gree shamrock cookies to take to Papa. Porter helped me make them and of course eat as much green dough as we could before the cookies made it into the oven. They turned out great so we gathered everybody up and headed downtown to have lunch with Paul. Kailie even came along. We ate at Cafe Rio and had a great time and great food. It was a fun day and of course it's always fun when the grandbabies are around.

March 7th 2011 Kailie's 22nd Birthday

It's hard to believe that my baby has turned 22. It seems like just yesterday she was my little girl. Now she has grown up into a very responsible, beautiful woman. Kailie I just want you to know how happy you have made your dad and I. You are always trying to please others and you are such a sweet girl that I am so proud of all your accomplishments and the woman you have become. Happy Birthday Girl..

We celebrated your birthday with the family on Sunday and had all the kids over for BBQ steak, salad and baked potatoes. Then we topped it off with cake and ice cream. It was a fun night with all. Then on your actual birthday we went out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse and had steak again..You really love your steak. Then afterwards we headed to the movie to see I am 4. Which by the way was a really dumb movie. Hope you had a wonderful day Kays. Love you lots.......

Parade of Homes

For President's Day weekend this year we decided to go south for some warm weather and to go to the parade of Homes. Well we made it to the parade of homes, I even won some free tickets before we left Salt Lake. But as for the warm weather I think it went south. It was rainy and even snowed on us on Sunday.. But we made the best of it. We saw about 16 houses and had dinner with all the family. We went to the Pizza factory and had to wait for a hour to get seated. But it was all worth it as it was very yummy. We even managed to get some shopping in on Saturday. On Monday loaded up all the new bedroom furniture that I bought from dad's store and started on our way home about 1:00. We made it as far as Harmony and the truck broke down. We called Mark and he came and towed the trailer and us back to St. George and we called a tow truck for the truck. It was the fuel pump and it cost us about 900.00 to get it fixed. We opted to spend another night there with Mark and his family. We went out to dinner with mom and dad to Texas Roadhouse. I forgot to mention that on Sunday night we all went with Mark's family and saw a cute movie. On Tuesday morning we got up early and tried once again to make our way home. This time we were successful and made it home around 1:00. Between Kailie and Paul and I we started to unload all the furniture. Then at 5:00 Steven came over and helped Paul with the really heavy stuff. We finally got in all done around 10:00 that night and it looks really nice.

Ms. Paulsen the new 2nd grade teacher at Calvin Smith Elementary

This is Kailie's last year of school and she will soon graduate at the end of this year. We are so very proud of her and her desire and determination to graduate. This next school year they were offering internships to actually be a teacher at a grade school and receive full benefits and half pay. Kailie applied for the Granite School District and had her interview on friday morning. She was a little nervous and down that afternoon when one of her fellow school girlfriends called to say she had gotten her internship. A few minutes later though Kailie also received a call from Calvin Smith Elementary saying that they would love to have her come and teach 2nd grade this next school year. She was so excited as we were too. Congrats Kailie, now all that hard work will be able to be put to good use this upcoming year. Dad and I are so proud of you...You are going to be an amazing teacher.

Valentine's Day

This year Valentine's fell on a Monday so we kinda of celebrated it all weekend long. On Friday we went out to dinner with the Tuckers and then played cards and on Saturday we went out with the Millerbergs and then back to their house for games and dessert. On Monday we watched the grandbabies and then when everyone was gone Paul made a yummy dinner of crab, salad, garlic mashed potatoes, bread and dessert. He did it in the dinning room with candles and music. It was so nice and fun. He gave me some beautiful roses that are still beautiful. He also gave me a new bicycle built for two. It's red and he gave me a helmet to match and a red water bottle filled with swedish fish, my favorite candy. The day was lot's of fun. Oh I gave him a new casual coat and some new slippers. Not sure if he really like it but they both looked great on him. I made cookie boquets for the girls and took them to their work. Porter wasn't feeling so great but was able to go with me to deliver them. All in all the day was lot's of fun....

Happy Birthday Steven

On February 13 Steven turned 29 years old. They had a big dinner that evening and had both families over for dinner. It was so yummy and great to visit with everyone. After dinner a bunch of Steven's Aunts and Uncles and some counsins came over for dessert. We gave Steven a new hunting jacket and some Cabella's money to go shopping...
